Anyone have the fax number to TU? Along with the name of someone to fax info to? They've validated something (twice) that the original creditor has already sent me a letter about 2 years ago saying they deleted. NO, I don't want to sue. I just want to send them the letter so they can fix it. Also, I know there are two CRAs that accept proof from the consumers. Are they one? I'll just type a threatening letter and make them clean it up. By the way, if they refuse to delete, then yes, I will sue.
I have a similar issue. Here is Transunion's reply. You may find this of interest. -----Original Message----- From: Don Richman [mailto:drichman@transunion.com] Sent: Wednesday, May 15, 2002 10:11 AM To: XXXXX Subject: Re: Please respond Mr. XXXX, These inquiries are statements of fact as the letters that have been sent to you stated. The companies listed received a copy of your report on that date. That is in-disputable. The Fair Credit Reporting Act requires the credit reporting agencies to display to the consumer the names of the companies that have seen the report. TransUnion maintains the inquiries as factual and may report them for up to the two years. These inquiries are the result of some form of activity. If you feel there is any reason to question the reason these companies pulled and reviewed your credit report, I strongly recommend that you contact them. I understand from below that you had attempted to work with them once. Perhaps, you may want to contact their fraud division.
