    Bay,

There is a good book that walks your through all phases of a federal trial on nolo "Represent Yourself in Court". Of course it's for civil matters not criminal. I wouldn't DARE represent myself in a criminal matter lol. Especially if it's a death penalty case.

Anyway, I'm reading it now and it's great and easy to read. It's just a lot of things to keep in mind. I'm still gonna sit through a few federal trials before I try this.

The thing about Federal court is there is no "game playing" there. No challenging jurisdiction crap... FDCPA and FCRA violations are Federal law matters so there ya go.

Another thing about Federal court is if you have a real stubborn CA, their lawyer will smack them and say "Are you crazy@!? Settle this one now!". Federal court cost them A LOT of money so they are more than likely to settle. It's a powerful tool. You have nothing to lose if your cards are in order and your stuff isn't frivolous.

Just for the pretrial procedures, the CA will pay more than the debt you allegedly owe to their legal team so it's not in their best interest. The great Lizard King stated this, I recall, and it's true. Federal cases are $$$$$$$$$ and time so they are likely to settle quick.

I won't even go into a jury trial. Most of them are biased towards CA's anyway. You should go to the district court in the ghetto *laugh* and have a jury trial. I grew up in the ghetto so well all knew about collection agencies and hated them; therefore, your chances are even better.

Even though you can sue up to $1000.00 you can get attorney fees if you hire one. That's where it hurts the CA's. If the Ca's lose, they have to pay their attorneys and yours.

I read a NJ appeals court decision where this CA has to pay the $1000.00 for FDCPA violations and $58,000 in the plaintiffs attorney fees. Can you say OUCH!

I am in a similar situation enjoying similar results. I started on 11/18/02 with about 18 derogs ( charge-offs, collections, and public records. Its now 1/20/03 and EQ has deleted 5 3 collections and 2 charge offs.

I will continue until I am part of the 800 club. I don't even know what my score is what I do know is that I can't even get 100.00 overdraft protection on my regular checking account due to my credit.

My suggestion to anyone new to the credit repair game is

STICK WITH IT, AND LEAVE EMOTION AT THE DOOR!

Good luck and Thanks to all of you.
