Hi folks I tried to think of alternate ways to dispute my three derogs that were included in my bk but were listed on all three credit reports as different variations on the C/O, or paid C/O theme. But on two reports (TU and EQF) the info was "perfect" down to the dollar amt, date of deliquency, etc. So I felt no choice but to settle for the "incl. in bk" tradeline, because I have to have as "clean" credit reports as possible to apply for as decent as possible subprime mortgage at the beginning of next year, at which time my discharge will be less than 18 months "old". So I online "disputed" EQF on 4/29 and TU on 5/7. That being said, I received in today's mail probably the same "form" letter from TU as CK70 described in: http://consumers.creditnet.com/straighttalk/board/showthread.php?s=&threadid=43180 I read the responses but am unclear on several points. Okay, I think I should ignore the letter (both TU and EQF state clearly on their online disputes that they will verify all info with the source, including public records) but then what will happen? How much more time, if any, does this give them to verify and update? I'm still assuming that they have 30 + around five "mail" days to something. Does this form letter reset the clock? Thanks.
lbrown59: I didn't think so. Does anyone have any thoughts (statistics) on will happen to those tradelines? Will they just be "deleted" due to TU's laziness regarding investigations (best posssible result) or will they be verified and updated to the TU version of "included in bk". One of my small creditors is FUSA (First USA) and I've read it just about takes an act of God to get this creditor to "go away".
cyana, I was in on that thread you pulled up. I personally had very good luck w/ TU....the first time I disputed w/ them I disputed 6 accts as incl in bk. I stupidly sent the paperwork showing them in bk and instead of updating to state that - they deleted them all (ok 5 deletions, they listed the 6th as verified, it was deleted in my 2nd go round) Just ignore the letter....they just want you to do their job for them!!
