Asked for an increase w/DMB and was assured they would not pull a hard inquiry. Of course, they did on 7/7 and I complained immediately. They sent me a letter dated 7/15 confirming they were notifying the CRA to update the correct info. (of course, it's a vague form letter and doesn't say "delete")

Got *another* letter 7/18, same wording. Here it is 7/29 and it still sits on my TU report.

How long do I have to wait to hit them up and for how much? $1k?

It will be so sweet to pay down a balance using TU's money.. he he...

Sorry Dan....but I don't think you can sue TU.....at least not yet.

CRA's have 90 days to update an account when a creditor sends them notification.

But, if you dispute, they have only 30 days to investigate and make the update. However, TU, will likely refuse to investigate if you send an inquiry dispute.....and if that is the case....then you can sue.

90 days... man, I gotta work hard for my money...

So, if I dispute the inquiry, the time to do so is now (15 days already by DMB's letter), 30 days or it doesn't matter? Let them notify me they don't delete, wait the 30 days and then hit them up w/the letter from 7/15?

Seems about right Dan. But if, after, or within 30 of your dispute to TU, they send a refusal to investigate your inquiry AND the inquiry has not been recoded/deleted, I would send an ITS to TU for refusal to investigate (with or without your letter from 7/15). If TU ignores your ITS, follow through with a small claims on TU, explaining to the magistrate TU had already received the UDF from creditor to update and STILL REFUSED TO INVESTIGATE your dispute/update account.

    Good Luck!
