First a little background: As most of you know I have been trying to buy a GM vehicle, I was declined by GMAC for too many charge-offs. So I went over my TU report to see what GMAC is seeing, which is probably not what I see. Anyway my SLs report as charged-off as of 2001, when the DOLA is 1997. It does not take them 4 years to send to collections. Also the date the loans were opened is wrong, they are using the DOLA as the date opened. and the closed dates are all wrong. Here is the scenario: SL 1 opened 1999 closed 2002 SL 2 opened 1997 closed 2001 SL 3 opened 1997 closed 2001 SL 4 opened 1997 dosed 2001 All four of these loans are by the same company and were opened the same year. The payment history for these should be the same because the only payments made on these loans was in 1997. SL 5 opened 1991 closed 2001 SL 6 opened 1995 closed 2001 Now this is also very incorrect. Because I have never made a payment on any of these and they would wait 10 and 6 years respectively to close them. Do not think so! So it gives the impression that I defaulted on loans as recent as 1 1/2 years ago which is not true. I defaulted on my loans in 1997, that is 5 years ago. TU has to report this stuff right, and since I have been denied credit because of it, they are about to feel it. I know their system is antiquated, but that is no excuse it says accurate reporting. If they cannot report it accurate to me, how do I know they are being reported accurately to everyone else, and since GMAC has informed me of this, I know that to be true. I have disputed these as not mine, incorrect balance and so forth previously. What say board do I do now, anyone have a strategy? Thanks remember everyone who responds to this and resolving this issue, their advice will be taken as their CREDITNET Shower gift to the Baby, who BTW has yet to make an appearance. Thank you.
Have you tried calling TU? I just got off the phone w/ them. Took forever to get through--I got the run around because I'm supposed to deal w/ an affiliate that doesn't accept phone calls. I finally got through w/ someone, and they even helped me a little on my hubbys report, which I was surprised about. Normally I would never say to call, but since I just had a decent experience, finally, I thought I'd pass it on to you. Maybe they're having a good phone day! LOL (my call was about SL's too! I HATE them!!)
Thanks Tracey, but I do not want them to change a date or two, I want it completely accurate. I am still thinking of my plan, will let you know.
