I got the dreaded letter that inquiries are a fact, take it up with the creditor. Does that mean they are finished and refuse to investigate further? My reasoning for dispute is that they are DH's same name father's. I know the letter is BS, but am not sure if that is their final answer on my dispute of these inquiries. Also, one inquiriy is for 3 softs, one hard on the same day- definitely FIL's creditor. I am sending all companies the pp letter, for this one, is it $1000 each or $1000 for all 4 inquires. Is there a difference for hards/softs?
Just remind them about "WILLFUL NON-COMPLIANCE" and the COST involved in SMALL CLAIMS COURT starting at $1,000.
IMHO no PP is an invasion of privacy. It doesn't matter whether they pulled are hard or soft. The fact of the matter is they pulled your entire credit report with no PP. I'm negotiating with Home Depot on this matter right now.
was this providian. They did the same exact thing to me 3 soft and 1 hard. from what I can understand from talking to bureau they used the softs to get enough info on me such as ss #, etc to do the hard.
Re: Re: TU Inquiry letter I just wanted to add that Providian did the 3/1 pulls on me and I faxed them a $1000 letter - 2 weeks later I get a letter back saying that they can't prove that I authorized and will be removing the inquiries asap.
Re: Re: TU Inquiry letter I sent Providian a letter reguarding a non authorized inquiry. Friday I got a phone call from them saying they were working on my request and needed to get the date from the CRA. I just found it strange they would call me to tll me that.
Re: Re: TU Inquiry letter Yes, one of them was providian...hmmm...I better get typing! I am sending TU a cmrrr letter tomorrow telling them to get off their duffs and prove they are ours or take them off. I did try to call the companies myself and got the run around from them- for the mortgage inquiries there was a bank and the mortgage company and each one told me to call the other. I give up!!
Re: Re: Re: TU Inquiry letter LuckyMom, Just to let YOU know your case is a lock. The statutory penalty for a No PP Inq. is $1,000 - period. Especially when they sent a letter that says they can't prove you authorized. I'd like to see you go for the money.
