Anyone know why the following is happening:

I check my Transunion Report, it shows everything paid or paying as agreed (never late), but when I check FICO and Eloan scores it tells me I've missed 3 payments (30 days late).

I think I might have to go to battle with Transunion too! Basically they aren't telling me that I was late on anything and are hiding that information from me. Isn't that illegal? Aren't I supposed to know what's in my credit files? Isn't it supposed to be reported accurately?

I think I'll call TU on Monday and tell them that they need to remove whatever late payments that they are listing as they are incorrect and besides that I can't even see which ones they are referring to.

    g) The term "file," when used in connection with information on any consumer, means all of the information on that consumer recorded and retained by a consumer reporting agency regardless of how the information is stored.

If you pull your Trans Union report through WorthKnowing.com, you'll see the full report, including the months/years you were delinquent on each account. Some people dislike and discredit WorthKnowing ("NotWorthKnowing," etc., lol), but I've always found my TU/WorthKnowing report to be very reliable, complete, and up-to-date. A couple of observations, though:

    1) Trans Union certainly DOES have an obligation under the FCRA to provide COMPLETE reports to consumers. My suggestion that you pull your report through WorthKnowing is simply for those people who are curious and would like to see the "rest" of the data. Obviously, this in no way absolves Trans Union of these unlawful FCRA infractions.

    2) The so-called credit score provided by WorthKnowing bears no resemblance to anything real under the sun. It's a strange little number on a 100-point scale that apparently signifies nothing. Ignore it. Loathe it. Talk about it like a dog.

Anyway, during the period I was actively repairing my credit, I found the WorthKnowing reports to be very useful because of the late-pay detail.

I had the same problem with Eloan and TU. The problem was that I had 2 files with TU. The file # was the same but there was an A & B file. U may wanna check that out.

What's the catch on the free credit report from WorthKnowing.com?

    THE "CATCH"???

    NO F.I.C.O. SCORE...THEIRS (1-100)...
    OPEN AS CLOSED~~~CLOSED AS OPEN...
    SOME ACCOUNTS MISSING...
SOME ACCOUNTS THAT HAVE BEEN REMOVED ARE ON IT...

    BUT IT IS FREE...

You know, we are all pushing for total disclosure of everything in our files, especially from TU...

Why don't we ask for cloaked items too? Heck, I'm sure there is plenty of information in the form of coded entries that we NEVER will see, but that, according to FCRA, we should be privy to. This seems like something that should be pushed for, with TU being the obvious first choice due to the way their consumer reports are given.

I can see one bad thing though. If it is determined that all doesn't really mean ALL, we will potentially lose access to information. However, if we don't already have access I'm not sure what a loss it would really be...

Add to the catch: incomplete information and you get to have them market you to potential creditors.
