...at least, that's what I've read. http://consumers.creditnet.com/straighttalk/board/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24185 Still holds true? Here's what I know.... I requested VAL from 2 CAs for 2 C/Os, CRRR. I got the GCs back, then started the CRA dispute process with the Big 3. Got my GC back from TU, so they've officially received my disputes on a total of 3 TLs. Their systems should automatically update these alleged TLs as "CUSTOMER DISPUTES", right? But here's the thing: I've read that their systems are older than EX and EQ, and as recently as Nov 2002 their computers still don't update TLs that are "IN DISPUTE" during the entire 30 day period, which would be a FCRA violation, per TL disputed. Ch-ching. I also read that this violation is not really enforceable unless actual damages are incurred as a result of the CRA's noncompliance. And pulling your own CR doesn't count -- I would need the creditor's copy of my CR proving I was denied credit by them. So, I'd have to apply for something that only TU gets pulled on (easy enough to find out: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/whopulledmycredit/), and hope to be ..... lol ..... rejected! Imagine that, waiting anxiously to hear the words: "sorry, you've been declined." Imagine their curious reaction when I thank them and walk away with a smile. Hehe. Is this worth pursuing, since I already have a bunch of recent hard inqs on my CR? Also, if I'm approved for whatever I apply for, it backfires in that I don't have tangible proof of damages to hold against TU. Since my main goal is neg TL deletion, I suppose every violation I can rack up on either the CA or TU is worth the risk. I can use it as ammo. How many times should I apply for TU credit within the next 30 days? Are there any limits I should be aware of? (ie maybe TU has 10 days from receipt to start reporting as "IN DISPUTE"?)
i JUST DISPUTED WITH THEM ON-LINE GOT THE EMAIL BACK FROM THEM STATING THAT THEY RECEIVED MY REQUEST TO INVESTIGATE PULLED MY REPORT A WEEK LATER AND IT DOES NOT SHOW IN DISPUTE WITH THE TL I REQUESTED VERIFICATION ON SO YOU MAY BE RIGHT.
