Hmmmm, I thought I saw something that indicated the CRA had to show your disputes, but I see that I missed a key part in the reference to 623(a). It would seem then that the only way to get something marked as in dispute is through the entity who is reporting to the CRA. No violation, darn. FCRA 605(f) states "Indication of dispute by consumer. If a consumer reporting agency is notified pursuant to section 623(a)(3) [§ 1681s-2] that information regarding a consumer who was furnished to the agency is disputed by the consumer, the agency shall indicate that fact in each consumer report that includes the disputed information."
I disputed at least 7 trade lines on 6/21 and requested TU send me the results by mail. I received the results of their investigation on 7/19. Not sure whether or not they were showing under investigation or not during that time as I did not check. I got 4 deletions and Providian changed their status from unpaid charge off to positive zero balance, paid as agreed. I just began the new round disputing the paid collection accts, we'll see what that brings.
NanaC--I was wondering how TU responded to your next letter.. I have a dispute that I think they ignored, so I'll be sending them a letter on the 1st, telling them to delete it. I'll send them a copy of the dispute that I printed out online when I made the dispute. I just wondering what my chances are, and how yours turned out.
Tracy: My husband's corrected TU report came in about 3 days after I mailed the 30 day letter...crossed in the mail...It is now corrected. The response to mine is that they are "reinvestigating." Now, I know they are supposed to delete after 30 so I'm tracking this for paperwork purposes!
