I just received in the mail my updated cr after my first online disputes. I called to ask them to remove 2 employers that were not mine - no problem! I then asked what I could do about the inquiries that were from companies I had never heard of or had no accounts with, he said "which ones? I'll just remove them." I guess it was my lucky day. I asked for my score, because it is not on the report, and he said it is 466. In May on my tri-merge report it was 499! I don't understand. My bankruptcy was removed because it was 10 years old this month, and 4 tax liens were removed. The only negatives left on my account are 3 medical bills, and Fingerhut which is from this year, but I am arguing with them because I don't want what they sent me. I am going to return it, then dispute. My only true positive is Sears, from 2/2001. I disputed a charge off and it was changed to this: Account with no adverse information: verified 12/96 installment account opened 12/96 participant on account most owed $1431 pay terms mo:$40 status as of 12/96: no rating in prior 1 month from date verified never late. Does anyone have any idea why my score would go down? How does the wording on the account that was a charge off affect my score? Thanks, I would appreciate any comments.
Because FICO is wrong and unpredictable.... Maybe it takes a few weeks for the FICO to catch up to the corrections?
I've recently had 2 successes removing inquiries from my TU report !!! It was all done on the phone. Sorry, there's no "secret" I can share, other than: 1. Be as nice as you can (Steven Z's "silver tongue" principle), and 2. Call 5 times if you have to. For the first removal, all it required was one phone call and an escalation to a Senior Associate. For the second removal, it required 3 phone calls. 3 reps and one Senior Associate later, it was gone. 4 additional inquiries on that report were removed by Citibank at my request. My application for a Chase Gold card was declined for only 1 reason: Too many INQs. But with 6 of those now gone, I believe I have a pretty good case when I ask for a reconsideration. Saar
Hi everyone.... I've just filed an online dispute with TU regarding inquiries. The following is the text of the dispute. I'll let you all know how it turns out. "Please don't quote to me that you can't investigate inquiries. The FCRA clearly states that items affecting my creditworthiness can be investigated. I was denied credit by Chase today due to "excessive recent inquiries". I have no problem with accurate inquiries but these are erroneous. Please delete them." Tom
I have had over 50 removed in the last 18 months. You just have to be persistant until you get the right csr!
