New here. A friend who used to post here showed me this board.

TU is showing a paid off car loan as open with 2 payments remaining to be made. Nothing shows as late. If I dispute the auto with TU, I am worried that TU will delete the account.

Any ideas about best to handle this? I have a letter from the lender showing the loan is paid off and never late.

Sometimes it depends on how often the creditor updates your file with the CRA's. They may not update for a few months. My auto loan is still open and never late but the creditor last updated my file in May. Tomorrow is July!

My advice is to call your creditor and ask them to update your file now. Maybe that duty falls to one person within the company and they have a specific procedure or schedule they stick to when updating with the CRA's.

    Good luck =)

I am going to wait another month to dispute. The other 2 agencies picked up that my loan is paid. The creditor just told me over the phone that they will not tell TU twice. I am getting a credit reference sent to me for the dispute should it come to that.

Of the three, I've never seen TU update correctly, I've gotten deletion letters, the account is deleted from the other two before I even get the letters in the mail, and more than a month later TU is still showing them.
