Do the words TU Consumer Disclosure means TU has updated your report? Like after a dispute? And why do they remain on your report for two year?

Has anyone noticed that the on-screen report has different entries then the PDF printed copy?

    Hi Des,

I've noticed that with TU reports, pdf vs online, and altogether different than mail reports. I've not done a line by line comparison to determine exactly what differences there are, though it's on the list.

BTW, I'm thinking the hokey pokey is EXACTLY what it's all about LOL.

Shaking it all about as I type.

Consumer Disclosure means exactly what it says - it is generated when you obtain a credit report for yourself.

    Hi.
"TU Consumer Disclosure" is very definitely a soft inquiry and should be ignored.

I think that is incorrect. I looked at both my and my DH's reports, and there are three sections for inquires listed on TU.

    Under the first section:
The following companies have received your credit report. Their inquiries remain on your credit report for two years. (Note: TU Consumer disclosure inquiries are not viewed by creditors.)
Under this section is listed for me: 4/26/02 TU Consumer Disclosure, 4/26/02 TU Consumer Disclosure, 3/05/02 TU Consumer Disclosure, 1/12/02 TU Consumer Disclosure, 1/12/02 TU Consumer Disclosure.
I did not pull credit reports on these dates.

    Under the third section:
The companies listed below obtained information from you consumer report for the purpose of an account review or other business transaction with your. These inquiries are not displayed to anyone by your and will not affect any other creditor's decision or score.
Under this section is listed for me 15/1302 Transunion score, 5/8/2002 Truelink via Truelink, 4/ 8/02 Truelink via Truelink, 3/18/2002 Transuion Score. These are the dates I pulled credit reports.
We pulled my DH on 5/13/2002 and sure enough it was under this section not the first. There was no TU Consumer Disclosure date listed.

If what I am thinking is correct, I have TU on another violation. They did not respond to my intent to file complaint letter in 15 days. I ordered my report on 5/16/02 two days after the due date, and the entry showing me past due 60 days as of 5/2002 is still there and no TU Consumer Disclosure showing. Now I know the "true" date they correct/fubar/delete stuff.

Right. These are three section as you spelled out. The way Trans Union does things if definitely a little strange.

From what I understand only the first section can contain hard inquiries. The "TU CONSUMER DISCLOSURE" listings are not counted as hard is far as I know. It may be that these inquiries are generated either when an individual checks their own credit or when Trans Union investigates a despite.
