I disputed a 2000 paid chargeoff account of TU, the results just came back as NO LONGER ON FILE, but the tradeline was not deleted. Does this mean that they were unable to verify? Should I send them a ITS letter? Need advise. Thank you.
TU did the same thing to me. I gained the points back, but the tradeline still remained. I called them up, NICELY, and questioned why this was still happening. A CSR told me that it must be a computer error. I had to fax them the page that it was still on. They fixed it immediately and a new report was in my hand within 5 days.
Well I did call TU, the rep said that the 'NO LONGER ON FILE" means that the company reporting changed the account number of the account and sure enough the new report shows a different acct. no. So I guess I'll start over. Thanks to all for the help.
