Just opened up a letter from transunion after disputing online and it stated "verification documents not available " It also states that they do not provide dispute verification responses . The letter also says "if you need to obtain documentation or written verification concerning your accounts ,then please contact your creditors directly . what's up with this . Toolhound
That is their BS to get you to stop digging. You can start your strategy on catching them on violations and using it to leverage a deletion
Not to be dumb, but give me a idea how I can start building a case . I thought it would be simple just throw out some disputed and see which one's get deleted .toolhound
okay they said they verified right? Now how is that possible if the CA said it was not yours? Did they do the investigation or not. I do not know the FCRA statute but ask one of the vets and i bet they will find it in a heartbeat. Hey tool hound, I am sorry, but I think I have you confused with another thread. Let me get back to you on that I do have you confused with DOITMYSELF's frivolous post. Sorry. GEORGE can you help out here?
I dont know how they would verify it so soon. I disputed it five days ago. This is the letter Thank you for contacting Trans Union . Our goal is to maintain complete and accurate information below in response to your request. RE: Verification documents not available We store information in our records as it is supplied to us by creditors.when infornation is disputed, we are required to investigate and record the current status of the information . We do not provide dispute verification responses recieved from creditors . If you need to obtain documentation or written verification concerning your accounts , then please contact your creditors directly .
sounds like a response to a procedures letter.... they are telling you that they cannot or will not provide you with the verification procedures and you should contact oc. sounds like a violation to me!
Stop me if I'm wrong here - isn't the CRA required to give the consumer atleast some form of verification procedure???? -Sal
The disputes were a couple that should of been deleted because of the 7yr limit. How do I respond back , with a letter ?
Toolhound, why don't you post the letter that you sent to them. Maybe there is something in it that triggered that response.
I just disputed it online at the TU site a couple as "not mine" and the two others "past the 7yr sol " ? toolhound
Then send them a fax stating you did not request documents, you requested an investigation into such and such accts on xx date, and as per the FCRA they now xx days left to either verify or delete. Period.
If you sent just a request for an investigation... I agree... fax them but only once the full 30 days are up.. that way they've violated the 30 day rule (also... add'l info by consumer makes 30 go to 45 days)... What did you ask for ?
I asked for them to delete some items on my credit file as" not my account" . They gave me a file number , I 'am wondering if that cover's all disputes that I made ?
