Just for the record, wanted to post the information on the change in my score with TransUnion as a result of the one and only inquiry I had on my report deleted. Prior to the deletion, my score was 689. After the deletion, my score is 704. That is a 15 point increase, which I think is pretty good for one inquiry deleted. It may have went up so much because that was the only inquiry I had.
Matty, I don't mean to burst your bubble, but the TU score they give us is bogus. It is nowhere near accurate.
Yeah, I know. It isn't very accurate, but I was just surprised to see how it changed with that one small deletion.
Actually, I spoke with the scoring people at equifax today, and was told if you have a low score, inquiries will have a bigger impact on your score than if you have a higher score. So, if we assume this is true, and your score was 689, I would doubt that 1 inquiry would be worth 15 pts. Of course, the people I spoke with may not know what they are talking about.
I had 13 points with EX with one inquiry. I'll know in a few weeks what I get back after the dispute with Doc's Trick. Charlie
I agree. I don't think one little inquiry would make that big of a difference in a score. I had a difference of $5 in my credit card's reported balance from march to april, and my score went from 714 to 689. The score is pretty much bogus.
