Just got my report and new score after total deletion of the emcc charge off screw up. Now remember before this charge off appeared my score was 646 in May 2001, after this damn thing appeared 577, okay so you know the story went down had them fix this, well guess what they did a hard delete of the account and now my score is 567!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! reason codes Balance/limits ratios, owe out about 46%, high but not extremely high Length of credit history, well only time will help this one Now the last 2 are a trip!! Balances on RETAIL accounts, owe 20% on them hello????? And credit history on retail accounts, I am kicked in the teeth twice for length of history. My ratios have gone up a "little" after mortgage but to loose that much doesn't make a damn bit of sense to me. BTW the false charge off was recent date so that wouldn't have effect after deletion. But here's the kicker, also got hubby's report and score, his score 652, with one paid collection, shorterhistory, more owed on accounts. I have had it trying to figure this out , eq was 675 as of yesterday with same info, and CE says 680 so not sure of trye Experian score. But I have given up and don't give a crap about scoring models anymore
Remember, TU and FICO ALWAYS give you 4 reasons... one may be weighted more than another so they're not always equal reasons.... Even people with 800+ scores get 4 codes.
Momof3: That's been my opinion from the git-go. I've always kind of felt like Popeye the Sailor Man. Oh I yam what I yam, I yam Popeye the Sailor Man! Screw their scores. I yam what I yam! (LOL)
LOL Bill I totally relate Bkev I realize they have to give you 4 reasons codes, but those last 2 they pulled out of their ---. I just got out my old copy of my TU report and score from mortgage time, score 646 in May, obviously the accounts were younger then, the retails accounts were higher and my balances were about 10% lower at the time. Now compared to this score 577, it makes no sense total bull. Ironic thing last month score was 577 with 'very" recent charge off, now it's gone and most creditors did not update between last month and now and score goes down. But I guess will never figure it out, just glad nobody hardly every pulls TU for me, Eq county here.
Momof3, Concerning the dept. store balance reason code, you may want to charge up the card with some expensive purchase, allow that to reflect as high balance (that may mean letting it remain over the cycle date or just letting it post, depending on the store), and then return the purchase. I think not only does credit scoring look at balances to limits but also balances to high balances. Maybe it is upset that you have a 20% balance:limit ratio but a 100% balance:most owed ratio. I noticed that it affected my scores and one credit decision.
Don't give up the ship,, Momof3! You've come so far already. You'll get this one straightened out, too. Time to bust some balls at TU, I suppose.
Thanks Hope I am almost at the 700 club with Eq and Ex ( trying to catch you GEORGE) and now I receive this score agggggg, well I am going to sit down again and try to look at everything again and then see what to do with TU and their score. I mean I toally understand ratios factor and the age factor but to double whammy you on revovling AND retail, something just doesn't seem right. Guess if I had a BK or charge off from 6 years ago TU would give me a better score
my transunion score is 548. I don't think this is the score that creditors get when they pull from TU.. Why do I think so? because I had a mortgage broker pull TU and he said I had a 618. And also, citibank pulled my tu when I applied for a aadvantage silver card. And I got $10.000 credit. I think the TU score is BULL........
Mine jumped up 33 on EFX after a deletion. With Experian, I got 4 deletions and they gave me 3 new bogus negative ones that belonged to my alter ego in Alabama. I think that someone is messing with me.
Mom, Not that this helps a lot, but I know how you feel. My EXP and EQ are in the low 700's range. My TU score is 577 (?) or thereabouts. The reports are substantially the same. (TU has no inquiries and EXP and EQ have 5 each). Given that and that the range of scores goes to 950 for TU, I expected that TU would be in the mid to high 700 range. Oh well. I think TU is either using a scoring model that is very different from the other bureaus or they are completely nuts. Voting for the completely nuts alternative makes me feel better. Cheers.
Thanks curiouser. I know my Tu has very little inquiries as well I thought for sure it would atleast be the same or a little higher than my others, but the reasoning codes are BS, double whammy seperating revolving from retail, last time I check retail was revolving!!!!
