I found out after I applied for a new CC that TU split my file AGAIN... this time they had 1 file with all my old tradelines and a 2nd file with all my open new tradelines. The CC co. got only the report with all my new tradelines... this report contained essentially no credit history past 2 years. The decline reason: credit history too short. This is the 3rd split on TU and I am sick of it. Can I sue TU with damages based on this decline?
Based on what I've read in other posts by people who know a whole lot more than I do.. yes. If I'm understanding what I read correctly: The split file means they are reporting inaccurate info. The denial of credit based on that inaccurate info is a bonified damage. It's not your fault that the CRA's software or whatever is so antiquated that it can't keep up with the number of entries on your CR, therefore why should you have to suffer the denial of credit. 3 times? Wow, I'd go after them hardcore personally. I know there have been threads around that dealt with this and how to handle it. I'm sure if you do a search you'll find info on it, and that someone who knows more than I do will be able to add more insight.
