TU refuses to investigate, claims i am using credit repair co. TU claims FTC says they don't have to investigate third party claims (credit repair co.). what are they talking about ? i sent the letter and i signed it. also, TU states that third party dispute is frivolous & irrelevent. what do i do now ? any suggestions would be appreciated.

I've seen suggestions stating to send a reply back saying something like...

I've seen however people posting that they've received the CRO letters, and the tradeline was still investigated.

I've seen some suggesions where people said to let the 30+5 days pass before sending a letter to preclude them from trying to tack the 15 day bonus on as well.

I've never personally received the CRO letter, but this would be how I would respond if I would receive the CRO letter.

"I have never even heard of a <CRO> [use whatever term they use on the letter] before your company's letter to myself dated on XX/XX/XXXX, let lone to actually use one, and I am offended at the off base inferences of such.

Your company received a personally hand signed letter from myself, mailed personally by myself at the XXXXX post office, if you look at the return address on my letter that is my local post office. Which was signed for on XX/XX/XXXX. Enclosed you will find a copy of the CERTIFIED MAIL RECEIPT, and the DOMESTIC RETURN RECEIPT for the original dispute, proving beyond a shadow of doubt that I personally mailed the dispute letter which your company is claiming was mailed by a <CRO>.

Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act your company has 30 days from XX/XX/XXXX to complete a complete investigation of said tradeline.

This letter is NOT new information regarding the dispute that was received by your company on XX/XX/XXXX, and your company is NOT entitled to any additional time to process the dispute which was received on XX/XX/XXXX."
