I diputed two items with TU -- one never late and one not mine. Results are due on 4-13. I got a letter from them yesterday with a list of the names and address of all the companies on my CR AND the names and address of all those who have inquried about my account. There was another letter in the same envelope about TU's "policy for information retention." Should I be worried that they are not investigating my disputes? Seems like I read a while back about someone getting a similar letter mid-30 day period. It's just weird because I have disputed several times for both myself and DH and I have never gotten a letter like this. Anyone know what's going on? Thanking in advance. peace, delilah
If history repeats itself, they are investigating--I have received this before, and my investigation went on. Don't be surprised if you get a letter asking if you are using a credit repair organization, and to fill in some info for them. Just ignore that as well.
Either they are confused about your request or accidentally stuck their hand in the wrong rotating file when stuffing envelopes. I would wait out the 30 days, and check my TU report then.
I working on DH reports now, TU 30days are up on 4/12 and I received the same letter about Retention. I threw it out, I also received a very strange letter from EQ, hummmmmm
Was it the one about send us a copy of your Driver's license, your SS card, your addresses, etc.? DH got that once and we went ahead and sent it them, figuring they had all that information anyway. I did NOT give them information about his accounts, though. Funny thing, though, after we sent copies of DH's drivers license they misspelled his last name and inverted his first and middle names. That's the one and I will not send anything else, because I already sent it with the dispute (WTH) I'll wait out the 30days and then tell them to delete..
It's weird that I disputed a collection account with TU and the results came back only 2 weeks later. I'm starting to wonder if they are indeed verifying the account.
