Two cardS, that is. These 2 rewards cards are among the best, in that unlike all others -- they're FREE: 1. Citibank USA Hilton HHonors Visa Signature card: "Signature" is the highest in Visa hierarchy, and only rarely comes fee-free: http://www.hhonorscard.com 2. MBNA Amtrak Platinum Plus Guest card: http://www.amtrakguestrewards.com/Offers/mbna.cfm Amtrak points redemption options: http://www.amtrakguestrewards.com/Redemption/online_rewards.cfm?category=PE Saar
Hiltonhonors (Citibank USA) denied me three weeks ago for too many inquires (Equifax). MBNA Amtrax I am using it, I was approved when JustME talk about this card back in August. i have not seen too many Advantages on this card between the others. (they pulled experian and Transunion)
Re: Two card you want to know about Geo, what does it take for you to see the advantages: THEM paying YOU an annual fee? Saar BTW - How many EFX INQ's did you have during the 6 months preceding your HHonors application? Thanks.
Re: Two card you want to know about BTW, here are the benefits that go along with any Visa Signature card: http://www.usa.visa.com/personal/cards/visa_signature.html Saar
Re: Two card you want to know about So what's the point SAAR? Most of the people who are at this site are trying to rebuild their credit histories and wouldn't qualify for the card anyway.
Re: Two card you want to know about There are many Regs here with scores > 680: George, roni, Momof3, myself, Dani, J.Edgar, The Other, CreditWorks, Jim - to name just a few. This board is intended for them no less than it is for you. Therefore, I will keep posting material that may be of interest to them. Saar
Re: Two card you want to know about Saar, do you have either of these cards or both? Just curious!!!!!!
Re: Two card you want to know about The Signature Visa is similar to the World MasterCard, isn't it? Citi offered me the AA World MasterCard as an alternative when I called in to switch my AA Gold card to another product. I just didn't see the reason to pay the annual fee. I didn't see myself ever using that "no pre-set spending limit" nonsense because you actually have to make purchases over your revolving CL to take advantage of this. You then must pay your minimum payment plus the amount you are over the revolving limit. I could never see myself doing that with the $9,000 credit line they gave me. But for no annual fee, the rewards points plus the airport parking would make this attractive. I ended up switching my AA Gold to Dividend Platinum Select. I wonder if they would consider switching me to the Hilton card.
Re: Two card you want to know about Citi wouldn't give me any AA cards because they said I already had the max. credit they would give out. So I applied for 3 different Citibank USA cards, got all three. combined into the HHilton card with a total limit of $22k. I got the quicken at 5k, the HHonors at 5k, and the Travelocity world card at 12k. so it really depends.
Re: Two card you want to know about the other: just curious roughly how much was the amount of credit, for roughly how much income (max that citi will issue). I'd like to get about 30K w/100K household income. Does that sound far fetched?
Re: Two card you want to know about My limit on my Plat. select is $22,700. My house hold income is $130k. I certainly think 30k limit with 100k income should be feasible. You have to keep in mind that they factor in other credit you have available. Meaning that if I didn't have the available credit on other cards that I do, Citi may have been able extend more. But I'm just guessing - know one knows anything for sure
Re: Two card you want to know about Hey SAAR, You crack me up with the "regular" stuff.....I have been on this board for just as long as you and have a score of 735. Please stop this "regular" vs "newbie" crap. This has been going on for almost two years now. You are no more important than someone who signed on for the first time. You sound like an employee of Citibank with your promotion of their cards. Sean
Re: Two card you want to know about Amazing how certain people on this board are elevated to a status of "regular" or "senior member".
Re: Two card you want to know about When you say score of 680, what credit bureau are you referring to? I have 717 on Equifax but I'm only 19.
Re: Two card you want to know about Are you actually capable of posting anything helpful on this credit board? You have so far 'contributed' to this board numerous posts, all of which consist entirely of cynic one-liners and smartass remarks. I call these people Regs, as they have been posting hundreds of helpful messages for well over a year. If you feel calling them "Regs" does not do you justice, call them any other way you see fit. Saar
Saar; Thanks for the info. For the other poster, my income is around 52,000, my limits are around 150,000. www.creditsense.com
Re: Two card you want to know about Saar, Apparently you are not aware of many of my posts. My complaint is that there are a certain group of individuals on this board that think they are special because they post frequently and act as credit connoisseurs. Thus, any "newbie" is branded such and almost disregarded because they are not part of your clique. Instead of acting as an advertising agent for Citigroup and MBNA why don't you instead help those who really need advice not corporate promotion. Sean
