1. What would an apartment fall under with Statue of limitation? 2. I disputed a debt with which the original company didn't get back with equifax, so they deleted it from my bureau. The collection agency the creditor assign it to finally got back with equifax and verified it, but at a higher amount. on tues i get a letter from them stating they'd offer me a settlement. The balance is 5,200 they're offering a settlement of 728!!! What a settlement right..... The Statue of limitation is up, so i know they can't sue me.. The orig creditor is no longer in business, my question should i take the settlement offer(but make them sign pay for deletion letter) or continue to dispute and cry the fact the orig creditor is no longer in business to validate????
What is the date on the debt in question 2?? I know I've learned alot here, but I've also learned I will NEVER have negative credit again. I have paid some for deletion and some that wouldn't delete. However, when I later disputed some of those that wouldn't delete, they were deleted during dispute. Now when I get something in the mail I mail out a check the same day, even if I have doubts I owe it. Ok, call me crazy, but I will NOT take a chance on anything hitting my credit report in a negative way again. I probably should ask for validation when I receive a bill, but to me it's easier to pay and never go through this headache and hassle again.
The debt is from 97.... it's funny this CA was disputed on all 3 bureaus, but equifax was the only one that didn't delete/CA verified.....
