Hello everyone, First off I know I get a little off course with this post but if you keep reading you will see what i am trying to get at. I hope. I have been reading how people are getting approved for all kinds of loans and their credit isnt all that great, so of course I figure if these people can do it so can I. The first time I tried anything it was for a washington mutual credit card....I got it....then was the car loan.....got it too (decided not to use it gonna wait a little while til i have more cash so i dont have such high payments).....then this morning i went on gateway and applied for their easy pay program....I got the screen saying I needed to call MBNA and speak with someone. So I called and spoke with someone, next thing you know I was approved for 1500.00. okay great now its time to shop for a computer, so i got back online to look around didnt see what i really wanted so i decided to stop by one of the county stores. when i got to the county store the people there were so rude (stay away from the one in mission viejo unless you are wearing a rolex and pull up in a bmw). So I of course left. Headed down to one of their other stores in encinitas the people down there werent as bad but not much help either. I decided to head home and call gateway and order over the phone. I spoke with this nice lady and we started to customize a system. I told here that I only had 1500 because thats all the approved me for earlier that morning. she said more than likely it was citi bank and they could call them up and get the limit increased no problem, i told here that it was mbna and she said oh well if mbna approved you then I will send your application to citi bank and 9 out of 10 times they will come back with a higher limit and lower apr because mbna has very strict lending guidelines and are pretty stingy with their limits. anyway i asked her if she could do that (send it to citibank....i thought it was random) and she said "absolutely! when you call you can request citibank or mbna and the csr will forward the request to that bank" She said that most csr's will just let the computer pick randomly and some will actually ask. Also if you get approved from MBNA a lot of csr depending on your limit will suggust that you try to apply with citibank. anyway after she processed the application with citibank they cameback with limit of 1200. so i obviously stuck with mbna. anyway that is my story and i hope that helps you. FYI MBNA will pull Experian for you if you live in Southern California I am not sure what my score is but thats what they pulled and Citibank pulled Transunion out here. Hope this helps anyone looking to get a gateway.
good info, just fyi they denied me outright, I believe they pulled experian (i disputed it off already though hehe) I got a long winded mail from them a few weeks later stating all the reasons why I was denied, but it was worth a shot. Since the inquiry was disputed off it didnt hurt too much. your credit may not be as bad as you might think...
