UDF Question

    Okay experts:

    I disputed an account on my credit report two years ago, instead of updating the account it was removed. At the same time, original creditor sent me copies of the UDF that he sent to all three agencies stating the account was paid as agreed, never late. It appears only on my Experian report. The other two have deleted the account. I really want this account to appear on my credit report. One of my only factors is limited history (the 2-3 years). Account was from 1998 and was an old Auto Finance account. I think it will boost my scores on Equifax and Experian because the biggest problem I'm having is lack of history with accounts. Since the account would be about 5-6 years old in total length that would put me back to 1997 or so which is better than I have now. SO my question is if I send the UDF to Equifax and Transunion, do you think they will put it back on my credit report?

    Dear Darkdoj,

    Talk about unusual request's. Recently someone posted that they disputed to the CRA's that;

    1) I was never late, always paid on time.
    2) The account is not mine.

    LOLOL

    I guess as long as your original dispute wasn't "not mine" it might work. Otherwise they would have to wonder why you'd want this account, that's "not your's" reposted.

    Heck, on the other hand if it's 2 years old they probably wouldn't even have it anymore.

    Usually for a small fee (about $14) you can get items added but the fact that you've disputed may through a monkey wrench into this wheel.

    Interesting question.

    Experts?

    :)

    Butch, how do you do this? I've never heard of it but would love to be able to get a few of my good installment loans reported on EQ and EX. Thanks!

    I know that several old credit repair books claim that you can add positive tradelines with a cra for a fee, but I think they've done away with that several years ago. You may want to try to contact Robin Holland's office to take a chance at it that way since you have the UDF. Do you have a copy of your report where it was reporting also?

    If you're trying to get a history, have someone add you as an authorized user for a couple of months and then remove you. Their entire history with the account will report.... of course, make sure it's a good one...

    Let me clarify: The loan was reporting on all three. Experian was the only one who told me my dispute was bogus and verified it. The rest deleted it instead of updating it. Less than a month after deletion, I threatened to sue the original creditor because they were still reporting it as charged-off when in fact it was paid in full. (Insurance paid off the vehicle, it was destroyed). I want it back on my Equifax report. The fico simulator for Equifax says if I add 2 years to my history my score would go up almost 100 points, which is what I want. I'm stuck at just below 600 right now. (591) The only reason is because of the length the accounts on there have been opened. (All except for one are recent 7 months or newer). Nothing old. It was all negative and partially wrong anyway. After my mother died, her entire credit report was merged with mine. Try explaining that I couldn't have filed for bankruptcy when I was only 14 years old to a CRA. They tried to tell me that I did indeed file bankruptcy no matter what I said. So I contacted a lawyer. Needless to say it was resolved fairly quickly by them. Anyway I just wanted to know if I send the UDF in, will it get processed. I can probably have the Original Creditor send in another copy because it's still reporting on my newly acquired Innovis report as negative...

    Dear Laurie,

    Sure they'll do it. Just call or send em an email and get the procedure.
