    HI,

I had an agreement wiht a ca where they where going to have items deleted from my file, they where supposed to provide me with a UDF. However I got the papers and they are a generic letterheaqd of the company where hey request or mailed a request to the bureaus to remove derogatory infoprmation.

Is this acceptable? Will this get the items removed or is there a especific form they need to send to the CRA's?

    UDF???

if a CA sends you a letter of deletion it can say that they requested that they CRA remove their TL from your CR.

if you send this to the CRA it must be on the CA letterhead and have a signature for them to use it, if it doesnt they may reject it.

The request to delete on CA letterhead should be enough as long as it has a number at the CA where it can be confirmed by the person who signed it.

I think it bears mentioning that CA/subscribers of credit bureau reporting services have an agreement where it is forbidden for the CA to show the consumer the UDF and other forms/procedures used between the CRA's and its subscribers.

The CRA's are really cracking down on this now, so don't *expect* to get a copy of that form, because it is EASILY forged and misrepresented.

Also, keep in mind that there are also clauses in the subscriber agreement that basically say, "Once you place a negative item on the report, you can not remove it without a court order. If you do, you will incur a monetary penalty," or something along those lines.

So, when the CA says, "we can't delete it," you should take that to mean, "it's gonna cost us money and we're greedy bastards, so we won't delete it".
