DH (Dear Husband/Hubby) said to me today, "When you get a chance, can you show me where to get my credit reports online? Not right now, but in the next couple of days" I just about dropped to the floor. I was shocked & my motormouth could only say, "Sure". Seems my fixation for credit accuracy & creditnet is catching! Update: CreditExpert Verified Premier Auto Finance verified & updated the status to "Paid/Never late". Now I have 11 accounts in good standing, and 0 potentially negative accounts. I can't wait for their overnight batch processing, so that first thing tomorrow I can check what the 695 score will increase to!!! YIPPEE!!! Equifax The rep I spoke to yesterday said their automated system failed to update Premier Auto Finance to paid/never late, but she'll forward it to the dept that will do it manually. They'll send a new report w/i 2 weeks. Next month (if I can wait that long), I'll reorder the FICO & hopefully I will have at least bridged the 2-point gap to a 700+ score. TransUnion I won't sweat it those results bc I was only disputing current balance. 725 score makes me happy. I didn't want to have all this negative stuff in the back of my mind @ Christmas. You guys kept me motivated while I waited for God to answer my prayers! Rina -- Conquering through Christ... and Creditnet
My hubby is showing interest too!!! He's asking me now what his score is just about daily! Except I'm afraid to tell him that it's dropped 7 points since I started 'fixing' things....<sigh>. Maybe part of the reason the scores are going south is due to our refinance hitting Experian a few days ago - our old mortgage didn't report to them. Gosh, I hope that's it!!! He's one of those 'don't fix it if it ain't broke' type of people and here I am 'fixing' stuff and his score is suffering. (well so is mine.. mine went down a few and then came back so I'm actually down a total of 2 from when we started last month, but I applied for 2 cards in the last week too.... hmmmm). Anyway, it sure is fun talking credit scores while eating dinner! My hubby is more versed in what I've learned here than I think he ever wanted to be!! LOL!! But he's a good sport. =-) Ozzy.
You may be down 2 points, but you have to look at it this way: it's back on the upswing! I have 3 INQs from May & June, so I'm gun-shy about applying for Citi, AMEX or some such. And when I get approved I want a big CL to make it worth the wait. Right now I'm ecstatic that my efforts in the last 7 months are paying off, and I don't want to burst that bubble. Oh good!! More credit junkies!! The more the merrier. Rina, congratulations on your success!! I know you'll have a better holiday now.
There must be something in the water. My husband and I have gotten so bad its become a competition of who has the highest FICO score. When I got approved for Juniper the other day he went and applied afterwards. Still waiting on the results. Dani PS So far I have him by 5 FICO points
I'm so excited And I just can't hide it... Guess what! I was giving some early morning $$ pep talk to my youngest sister today, then my husband gets on the phone & tells her to listen to me because now that my mind is satisfied w/ the results from the CRAs, I need something else to obsess about, and that she can learn from what I've gone through the last couple of years. So now I'm gonna add a 2nd member of my family to the Creditnet round table! I'll introduce them when they sign up! And the best news...my EX score has gone up 15 points overnight to 710 now that Premier Auto Finance is cleared up. That's a total of 25 points since 12/7/01!!! With no negatives remaining, (except 3 hard INQs), the future is looking brighter! I know I say it a lot, but you guys are my God send & I can't thank you enough! Rina -- Conquering through Christ... and Creditnet
Congrats, Rina. It's a great feeling isn't it. I thank God for Creditnet regularly. My credit was in the pits at one point. Education is the key. If you are never taught how to handle credit you will more than likely find out the hard way like I did. It really should start in the home & school. I learned so much at this site. I am so obsessed with my credit now. I pay as many bills online as I can. If I have to mail something, you can best be sure it is sent well in advance & I'm calling the automated system to make sure it is posted to my account. With the help of everyone here, I have had an awesome credit year. I have received Chase Platinum, BofA Platinum, Amex Blue & JCB accounts. In addition, a 4.9% Infiniti loan and most recently a prime +2.99 Amex LOC. I wake up frequently and am still in awe of how much I have accomplished. My point is that EVERYONE on this board can achieve their goals. It takes time & patience, but the end result is worth it. We already have a leg up with this board. THANKS CREDITNET!!! :-D
I knew someone --most likely you-- was gonna say something about that! I'm getting ready to go to my PT job this afternoon. I feel bad for missing this morning's service, but I will to church during the week. And Miles...I do the same thing. My car note & utilities are on automatic w/drawal; I pay my 2 credit cards online & my cell phone bill over the phone (no fee). Only irregular bills like insurance premiums get mailed out. By the way, Credit expert added a reason code that negatively affects my score. Installment loans (1 car payment & 1 student loan left) now constitute a higher percentage of my monthly obligations. I'm paying off my car on 12/31, 4 months ahead of schedule, so the score should be even better next month when Fleet reports it. Happy, happy, joy, joy!!!! OK, I'll stop. I know I'm getting cheesy now Rina -- Conquering through Christ... and Creditnet
You go right ahead and gloat!! It is acceptable on creditnet. We all gloat with you, hehe. Even do happy dances, now that they are legal once again<VBG> Just teasing about church - I was the one who took up for you after your first post, remember?
My email's on!!! I've been so busy reading old & new posts, I've forgotten about stuff like that. And yes, breeze, I remember you sticking up for me!
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! This is one of my favorite songs! I turn it WAY UP when I hear it on the way to work & sing right along. That's so cool, breeze; I needed to hear it again. Do you know Nicole C. Mullen was here (NJ) a few months ago, doing a concert 1/2 hour away, but I couldn't go bc I had already made other plans. I'll go buy the CD this week!
You will love the CD!!! The whole thing is wonderful - I put it on full blast. That girl can SING!!! And that song says it all. At the end, there is a pause and you think the CD is over, but it isn't - wait about 30 seconds and she comes back on in a little thing with her kids. It's terrific. I would love to hear her live. I wish she would come here.
