Has anybody got experience with Umbrella banks credit cards? I want to get their VISA classic but I hear they pull Experian. My Experian score is 643. One inquiry with Experian in last 6 months. I want to get a good credit card with a low fixed APR and no annual fee with a good company that does not operate out of DE or SD. I don't care about intro. rate or any other perks. Any opinions? Do a search for Umbrella Bank - there are a few threads about it. They only pull a soft inquiry. Ozzy.
Umbrella Bank so far for us has been terrible. We never use the card because they always post our payments late. If you want customer service, you must call during business hours. They offered a very low credit limit too.
So far I love Umbrella Bank, 5k cl with a soft inquiry, rewards card... I haven't gotten my first bill yet though... I'll just pay that one as soon as I get it to avoid it being late. Ozzy.
We always send our payment the day after we receive the bill. They have still posted the payment late a couple of time (we have called to complain each time, but as I said, you can only do so during business hours). Maybe they have gotten better - you can only hope.
How come ya just don't do a transfer from your checking/savings account to pay your cc bill? I'm just doing that now since you said about them being pokey about posting payments (thanks for the info!) Ozzy.
We don't have a checking/savings account with Umbrella Bank, just a Visa. My fiance has had it since 10/2000.
Got mine this week. I never sent the deposit because of the mixed reviews I recieved here. I recieved an email about three weeks ago saying that if I did'nt open the checking account they would not cross sell me the visa(Interesting choice of words). Well I left it at that. This Monday what shows up? My shiny new Yellow Submarine Yellow Visa Classic. Well I BT'd my 14.9 Citi AA for their 10.9. They really have to get their act together. I'll take the Visa but as far a checking account..no way!!
Sorry, the other, I thought everyone had to have a checking/savings in order to have the Visa...I just transfered $ this morning and it showed up immediately. I figure if I send in a deposit at least once a month then I'll have $ to pay the bill. I'm gonna carry a small balance on it since it's only 9.9% and my Citi card is 12.74 and they refuse to reduce that so Umbrella and my CU (which only has 1k cl) are my lowest cards interest wise, except for Discover with 0% 'til September for BTs. Ozzy.
