This is different from the previous denial reason, a bad mark on my ChexSystems report. I didn't think a bank would care about your credit rating before letting you open a checking account? Anybody know the minimum score they require?

Heck, I was just trying to see if I could get an account, I don't really need it. At least I get a free paper report from Experian out of the deal, and it's only a soft inquiry )

I was approved for checking and offered savings, EQF score of 572.

    I wasn't offered a credit card.

I thought they always pulled Experian?

In any case, my Experain score is at least 587, so I don't understand at all...

Turns out that the denial message is completely generic and ChexSystems managed to screw things up, even after the ten or so phone calls I made to both Chex and SCAN.

So, *maybe* tomorrow I can apply and be approved. They had damn well better cross-sell me a card after all this trouble ;o)

Me Too. Checking and savings but no Credit Card.

I'll try again later when my scores jump.

Hmmm, with an Experian score that high I'm surprised. Do you have a bankruptcy or something else that maybe they are flagging as a reason?

My Experian should be close to 660 by now, but I still have a bankruptcy listed. I won't even bother with Umbrella if there is no possible chance of a cross sell...

I have NO bankruptcies, chargeoffs, serious lates....the only thing I have that's negetive is 1 late pay from 1/97 on my closed Discover card and it was only one 30 day late. That's it. I have 5 inquiries. The only thing I can figure is my debt utilization on my current cards. Almost maxed on most of them. Could that be it??

I just got turned down from principal bank also. Their reason- I have an unsatisfactory credit report. I have no baddies, no lates- it is completely perfect.

Maybe they don't like your score?

Could be. I usually get a reason for being turned down. This is the first time I have ever heard of this generic reason. I am gonna call them to ask about it soon.

I reapplied last week and was approved for a checking, savings and a credit line of 1k. No credit card offer.

Scores range from 649-694 with a bk-13 (1996) on file.

    Best regards,
    Mirage
