Still haven't received the Umbrellair Platinum Visa that I was approved for on July 25th. I went online to look at my accounts for the first time. Lo and behold, I see a Platinum Visa with a $5000 CL and a $32 balance as of last Friday. Dinner in Chicago apparantly. I hope it was good.

So I get on the phone with their Customer Lack-Of-Service people (they remind me of dealing with X.com), and it turns out that somehow I am seeing someone else's account and the other person can see my accounts--checking, savings, Classic Visa, everything. Not only that, but they completely lost my Platinum account-- no record of the approval- nothing.

The guy said they could probably clear the whole thing up in the morning- at least I think he said that--he spoke with a very thick accent and I could hardly understand him.

All of you new Umbrella account holders-- I would advise you to go online and scrutinize your accounts very carefully.

    DOGGONE RIGHT - BEWARE!!!!!

    Hi Quixote - and DaveLV:

Well, I opened a savings and checking with $1000K on July 18:

    1. They thanked me and deposited $700 into the savings, and $300 into the new checking I got a letter with my online password, and successfully logged on ONCE and saw the $1000.

    2. I also got a 2nd letter saying they needed verification of my home phone and my residence.
(Of course, they have sent this notification to me at my residence.) They want my phone bill and electric.

THEY WILL NOT SEND ME ATM cards until they get this stupid requirement. BUT THEY CASHED MY WAMU PLATINUM CHECK with my name and address - the same name and address listed with the credit bureaus....

I thought I changed the password to my normal password for all my other applications - but it did not take when I tried to log on a couple of days later

SO, I called Umbrellbank and asked them to reset my password. The guy told me they needed to mail it and it would take a week - I do not have it yet.

    SYNOPSIS:
Umbrellabank has had my money for 3 weeks, I cannot access the account or get the money.
I will escalate this quickly - I cannot recommend them at this point.

Also, my 3% interest dropped to 2.7 - and I cannot get access.

Remember, I am not talking a credit card issue here - I am talking I can't get to my money!!!!

    BEWARE - CAUTION!

    grrrrrr - dogman
