Out of the blue this morning a call came from Bank of America Credit Card. It was shortly after 9 a.m. The account is hubby's but it is I that do most of the management of the debts. The caller told hubby that they had noticed a payment of 2,000 to our account and wanted to know if this was a 'payment' by us or a balance transfer ? Hubby, didn't think quick enough to say that it was none of her business.. so he agreed that the payment was a transfer. The caller went on to say we want your business back.. blah. .blah.. blah.. Hubby said can you talk to my wife, as I need to get ready for work. I got on the phone and the rep repeated herself and then said can we offer you a no fee transfer for 3.% for six months then a 12.9% on going. No, I said,"I have 0% going on right now until December on a DISCOVER card and a 3.9% until paid with Citi-Bank. Might you have anything that would be comparable to these that I might would consider?" ... brief silence.... She said, don't you have any higher rates on any store cards, gas cards or something like that that I can interest you into transfering? I said, "No, I don't".. She offered again, like she didn't believe me. I asked her what balance did she have showing today.. she said $8,341.40. I said what I would like is to have a great until paid rate on my current balance as I have with our Citi-Bank account.. again silence.. and she finally said no, I can't offer you anthing like that. I said oh.. well.. "BIG SIGH" and said please call me again with any futher offers.. and she quickly read out an 800 number to me.. I slowed her down and got the number again.. and asked her where the number went to ? ... the balance transfer specialist department she said. I said I would call back when I "needed" a new deal and wished her a good day. Do you think I will get another call in a week or so.. when the balance gets paid completly off with hubby's second 0% from Discover ? Just thought I'd share.

I also have others bal transfer offers but I ever remain a balance at 4.75 for life at Bank Of America because they are a great Bank. They have Increased my limit three times in a year, I also receive special offers and checks everytime and was approved recently for another plat MC card.
I really like to deal with them!.

I am glad I have something to one day look forward to. (lower rates, greater cards, etc).

After having a Bank of America checking and savings account for about a year and a half, I was upgraded automatically to their Gold Checkcard.

6 months after that they pre-approved me for their regular card.

It only had a 500 credit limit, but I figured I had to start somewhere.

You are right, they are a good bank to do business with.

George.. come again ? And tell me what credit limit you started with w/ BofA .. and how your raises went? What I really want after the DISCOVER ZERO BT's are up is to put all ( most all) of our debt load back to BofA at the 4.75% prime plus ZERO for life. but I am not up to that credit limit yet. I just want ONE or TWO payments a month. I am spending entirely to much time most every day looking at what I can do next.

What I'd need right now is 8,300 + 6,000 = 14,300.00. My credit limit now is 12,000. and just went up to this on Janaury 10th /02.. Do you think they might call again with another offer once the account shows a ZERO BALANCE ? Should I send them a letter by planet feedback NOW .. or just wait a few months while I use DISCOVERS 0% offers for my debt to go down closer to the 12K credit limit.
