This is my respone from Trans Union after a recent dispute. I sent two forms of identity validation including a copy of a billing statement from recent creditor listed on my credit report and copy of utility bill & check stub. I didn't send a copy of my credit report because it was a 3-in-1. I think this is a delaying tatic. There was lots of incorrect information on my credit report including my current & previous addresses. I just can't believe they couldn't find my credit report. What more could I do?
Did you include your social # on the letter requesting the report? They should be able to pull it up with just the social #, however, if the addresses didn't match the addresses on the letter, that would be why they were asking for proof before sending your report. They need to verify that it is you who is asking for the report.
When I request my credit report (I never like online or merged reports) I send my request with a photocopy of my drivers license and social security card with it, this way they can't delay and request additional proof of my identity. ChrisB

This was inaddition to my SSN, 2 prev addresses & 2 prev employers. I sent of the dipute again. This time with a copy of all that plus a copy of the personal information as shown on my credit report. I just pulled my CR from working knowledge the other day.

It seems likely your file got merged into someone's else's report. TU would never admit it w/o proof. Call them up and ask them to explain why you have NO report at all.
