I Just looked at my wifes credit reports again. Inoticed that there are unauthorized inquries on it. The purpose was listed as " Collection Purposes". The way I read the FCRA, that is illegal, right? Anyopinions out there?

Congradulations she has just been blackballed for life.
Everyone should have at least one on these type inquiries on each of their reports.

lbrown, must you be so negative all the time? If you can't post something positive or even relevant to the thread can you NOT post?? I assume you have nothing more to do but wait for someone to post (like I do) and then you post negative or totally off-the-wall BS. If you would *try* to be helpful or positive occasionally it would make it easier to read your posts. I get frustrated at the ignorance of some of your postings personally.

    Christi,
Thanks , I have also noted Brown EYE's outstanding sarcasm and lack of wit on a few occasions myself.

I am not sure..but would like to know as well. I have a few collection purposes on my reports too. I have sent CRRR to the companies and they responded they have "permissible purpose".

I could lie and say how great the system is.
Do you think tickling folks ears like that would be better?
If only folks would get half this frustrated at the credit industry.

I am frustrated at the credit industry, that's the reason for my lawsuits now. Nobody expects you to lie and tickle their ears. The point is that if you can't say something helpful or relevant to what they are asking, why bothering posting a bunch of ignorant BS that we *ALL* already know about the CAs and CRAs??

Contrary to what you believe, we won't make them go away. You think we can quit using credit and pay cash and they will give up and leave...WRONG thinking again. They are here to stay so we have to learn to outwit them at their own games.

I'm not against you in any way, I just don't understand why you jump on 97% of the threads to post something so trivial as "Quit using credit, they will leave" or "You are blackballed for life". Why not simply say, if you must answer every post "This area is not my expertise but here is a courtesy bump".

    Off my soapbox for now.........

If it's listed as a collection purpose, and she is in collections with the CA, they do have (unfortunately) a permissible purpose. I have a collection inq on my report, its over 1 year old, however I don't want to roack the boat by disputing it.

    Mind Crime,
Thanks for the input. 99.9% of everything on her report is past the SOL . Just looking for Ammo to fire back at the CRA's and CA's to help her clean it up. Now that I read a little further , unless you opt- out to the CRA's, it can be misconstrued for a "permissable purpose."
