Uncooperative CRA's

I've sent disputes to all 3 CRA's for 3 separate items on February 6th.

Transunion sent a letter saying that they are investigating the entries that if I don't hear a response by -- get this -- 3/28/2002, please call the number on the letter.

Experian sent me some strange printout for 1 disputed entry explaining what the entry means! (i.e. this meansthe account has been transferred....blah blah...) they ignored the other twodisputes completely...

I have heard nothing from Equifax but I have the green cards from all three....

So, I decided to order my reports online and found that Equifax had newly verified two entries, ignored 1, and nothing listed as disputed.

Transunion has deleted 1 entry, none are listed as disputed. The irony is they deleted an entry for an original creditor but left the subsequent collection agency activity on there!

Equifax, for some unknown reason, is investigating one entry they list as verified 3/2002 and another entry I did not initiate investigation for! Huh? They ignored my letter completely....

In any event, this is crazy! They all got the letters within the same week, and they are all doing their best to not do anything I asked!

What should I do next? I've been sifting through this website like crazy but the information overload and CRA incompetence has me feeling a bit overwhelmed....

It is very frustrating dealing with CRA's. Remember though it didn't happen overnight and won't be fixed overnight. Just continue to build a papertrail. I (having sued them) realized this was my best defense or offense.

I was able to prove how many times I disputed, they ignored, they ignored procedural requests, they didn't list anything as being "in dispute" etc etc..

The better and longer your papertrail is, the better court case or settlement you will have. EVERYTIME you dispute online, print it out. I saved every single piece of correspondence from them including envelopes with dates etc. My attorney was overly impressed when I walked in his office with a duffel bag filled with 5 legal size manilla folders of correspondence.

Read creditnet, ask questions and build that papertrail. You WILL succeed.

Hang in there. Sometimes the fight is easy and other times... well you know. The best thing that you have going for you is the information available on this website along with the wonderful, knowledgeable people to help you and cheer you along the way. Almost everyone here started in the pits. I'm still there but I am finding my way out. Keep at it and be strong and in no time, your goal will be accomplished!
