If a person signs up for a Union Plus card as reccomended here and on other sites but falesly states that they are a member of a union, can they get in trouble? Are there any horror stories?

I am asking because I am interested in applying for the card.

    Thanks

I have a Union Plus Card and I am a union member. I have no idea whether or not they check those things. Is there not another card that you could apply for without committing fraud?

    Thats just the thing.

Is it fraud or is it just a type of marketing they do to call it the Union Plus card. One would think that with the way they verify all this stuff, they would check if you were really union to see whether or not you qualify. It just sounds suspect to me.

It's definitely fraud. Whether there is any chance you could get caught (and if so, any chance you would be prosecuted) is another question entirely.

I believe it is affiliated with unions in some way. There are some benefits with the card that I had through my union.
