I've not received any written communication from United Recovery Systems who are representing Capital One. They leave multiple messages that we don't return. Now, they've contacted at least one neighbor asking for info about us and asked the neighbor to give us their phone number to call them. How do I handle this to get them to back off?

As background, we are trying to hold onto our house right now -- my DH has been in and out of work for the last 3 years. He's trying to do consulting with marginal success and there is no money. We are paying just the essentials -- mortgage, food, electricity, water -- but not much more. We only have 2 cc's that haven't been paid. Now we have United Recovery aggressively trying to reach us -- I know this is a "credit repair" forum, but I need a refresher on what steps to take to get this CA to back off. We're happy to pay them sometime in the future.

You need to send United a validation letter. That will hold them at bay for a while.

In her other thread she said this was a business debt.
