Do unrated entries hurt at all. I have an old closed account reviewed for 26 months listed as an "R" on my Equifax. Would it be better listed as an R1, closed by consumer?

    Thanks!

ONLY F.I.C.O. KNOWS FOR SURE IF "R0" HURTS/HELPS...I would request it be rated "R1" or have it removed!!!

    Dustin,

The following quote is from the "Fix Your Credit Workbook" by Bierman & Master:

"An unrated account is neither good nor bad and does not affect your credit rating. Accounts are often unrated because they are old or the information is suspect, or because you insist on this as part of the settlement terms in your negotiation. Unrating an account in exchange for payment or to settle a potential lawsuit , is the time honored-honored method of legal credit repair."

    Hope this helps.

    Manny
