    Let me take a stab at this:

    It's a crime when credit reporting agencies don't work to resolve disputes in a timely manner because that in itself perpetuates incorrect credit files, resulting in higher FICO scores and, in turn, higher profits for credit grantors.

    Am I in the ballpark? (This was my best shot.)

    P.S. There's something about this that reminds me of "Sanford & Son," the old TV show. On that program there were two cops -- a cool-talking one and his VERY square partner who always translated for the cool one. Example: The cool talking cop would say something like, "I'm hip to the mojo trip going down on the block," and the square one would translate, "We are aware of the allegedly nefarious activities currently underway quite proximally to our current location." :)
