Update: All-State Credit Collections

    And I also would be curious as to how the CRAs could report All Stated "amount," when the amount was way different. Also, they list the account as "open."

    Worst case scenario, they could create a new account with the plaintiff based on the documentation. Next to worst case scenario, they subtract the settlement amount from the number that they are reporting.

    This is why I never provide documentation until the DF and CRA have both gone on the record with something that can be proven wrong, in court.

    Open has two meanings, if it's under 'Account Type' Open means open terms, like a credit card, etc. If it's under 'Account Status' Open means that the account is not closed.

    With a collection account, almost any account could be considered open, status-wise.
