Hello There, I got a call from thier risk management dept today at work and told me that the address verification docs have been receive and that the account have been finally approve... I receive the debit card, checks in the mail today as well and got the pin no end of last week... the rep told me that the platinum card have been approve as well and it will take 7-10 for me to receive it... one note if your address does not match with the credit report they will ask for address verification before they will activitate all accounts approve for... so after all this it came through just took a longer time than usual... they are actually a pretty good bank and the reps are pretty nice to deal with... I will post as soon as I get the platinum card... they only pull one soft inq on experian for all this and no further inqs has been made... if you do apply with them good luck... Thx Kev
Hello Charlie, When I apply for the checking, debit card, the score on CE was 697 and within second after I hit submit it came back saying that Congrats you have been approve for the free checking, debit card, overdraft protection, platinum visa card $5000 9.9% apr all with a soft inq on experian.... try it out and see what happens good luck to you if you apply... Thx, Kev
What a great call! Got the Classic card, overdraft protection, checking account. 10.9 fixed for a classic. See ya Cap1 Gold..balance transfer your butt. Here is a dumb question. What happens if I decide not to bank with them, will I still get the CC?
No one seems to know that yet. I think you'll have to go ahead and open the account with a $100 deposit to get the credit card. If you really don't want to bank with them I suppose you could close the account in a month or so. The extra 5,000 rewards points on the Platinum card for doing direct deposit is a really tempting reason for me to swtich over. You can get a free airline ticket after only 18,000 points and you start with 6,000 (1,000 for opening and 5,000 for the direct deposit).
I read another thread here that the CC is not a DONE deal when you open a checking account. It takes 2 to 4 weeks to get the card. They ask for more info(utility bill) and do pull a hard inquiry. Well for %10.9(Platinum "like" interest) I will jump through the hoops. I was excitied to get CitiBank and BOA three months ago but that 14.9% plus $50-$59 fee is not sitting well with me. Anybody actually go through the whole process and get the CC.
I just got off the phone with them and they showed both my o/d protection and visa card I have not had any other inquiries, yet
Hello Kelly, They actually told you that they show the overdraft and visa on their system.... which dept did you talk to cause they have two depts one is regular customer service and one is credit card customer service... I just talk to another rep right now at the credit card customer service and the rep told me when it said approved for visa does not mean you will get it for sure they still have to go through the normal credit check and verification so I've been told many different stories now and if you did receive your visa please post.... I am really lost right now on this one.... I did receive the checks, debit card, and they do show the overdraft protection on their system and I do see it online as well... but for the visa nothing is showing at all... Thx, Kev
I emailed Umbrella Credit Card department for clarification. I am willing to put up with the hard if necessary. 8 in 6 months...Yikes
Hello Kelly, Thank You for your response.... The info on UmbrellaBank on the FDIC website says they have fewer than 50 employees and only one branch.
