Audi A4 1.8TQMS - approved $3500 down purchase. I had to try though. Applied for lease with $3500 cash down for 48 months on Audi S4.. ($41,000 car) Doubt i'll get it will let you know monday. Either one would make me happy. The S4 lease would be for $450 after taxes per month, the A4 purchase would be $579 /month. ~650 score.
The S4 is a super, super car. Fingers crossed for you. A few questions, if you don't mind.... I don't remember if you have said before, have you ever had a BK? Your score is 650 but what is your history like, Collections or anything? Is the approval through Audi Finance or one of the dealers lenders. Thanks! Shawn
purchase it if you can SAM! you already know you can do that! but - yup - if you lease and keep it nice, you can get another new something in 3-4 yrs. the main advantage of a lease is clear - lower payments. best of luck friend - NICE! Dogman
650 - chargeoff and collection. (1 each) Audi finance. They are desperate to move cars. (VAG) VW too!!
Reason for delay: Previous car loan only $7K , considers me a high risk. Past issues in 96 are not the problem..
Audi A4... My girlfriend has that car.... I LOVE IT! If you don't get it, VW makes a model that comes off the same line for about $12k less.
Thanks Sam, I appreciate the (fast) answer. I would think you would get approved for the lease- at least for a shorter term (maybe a conditional approval for 24 or 36 months). Reason being the lease would be based on the value of the car minus the residual amount, an amount that should not be too far off from the A4 price if the lease term is short enough. It does lessen your down payment after you factor in first/last/security, unless you are paying them too. Either way, you are going to get a GREAT car. The A4 with the 1.8T is totally over-engineered and holds it's value quite well. The S4 is just simply amazing. Keep us posted! Shawn
Good luck, Sam -- I have a 2001 A6 (1.8T) and have been in love with it. Audo Financial Services (VW Credit) took me, with the BK in 95, without explanation required (they pulled Equifax only, and my score was somewhere around 660). They're a little weird - they didn't report for 6 months, then they reported once in Jan 01, and now nothing since. Stupid Experian verified it, but as of 01/01 (not with current balance!) Lease makes a LOT of sense if it's subsidized heavily (Audi is notorious for doing that). I'm guessing a 2001 A4 would get a BIG subsidy with the 2002 re-design just about ready to launch. -mj
VW credit pulled EQ & Experian for me. Two major derogs on both (650 score), approved with $3500 down instantly on $28K purchase. The only thing holding me back is the fact that I have never purchased such an expensive car before. My last car financed was $7000. So going to a $41000 lease on the S4 is quite a jump. Btw the S4 is the same insurance rate as the A4, due to less statistical accidents occuring. go figure.
