DirectTV backed down and will not bill us for the porn. No details yet. Husband just called. I will post more tomorrow. Thanks to all -except TooMuch. (you are a real bitter, man- hating broad. Put on your flannel shirt, pop in your dentures and seek mental help.)
Translation: "Behind my back, my husband scraped up the money to pay for the porn, he sent it to DirecTV, and he told me everything's ok." Sorry to be the one who had to tell you the truth here. It sure seems to have made you angry. The fact remains: Someone in your house ordered the porn, and you know it. It must be sad to live in a relationship based on lies. However, it is your life....
Re: Re: UPDATE on DirecTV & Porn charges It must be sad to continue posting on a board where it is obvious you are not welcome at. I am amazed by your powers, too much. Tell me, can you see into my home for me and find that book of stamps I misplaced? The fact remains: you a sick, sad individual with nothing better to do than attempt to disrupt things and generally, piss people off. Crawl back into your cave and keep your disposition to yourself.
Re: Re: Re: UPDATE on DirecTV & Porn charges This board is here to help people. It does no good at all to lie to people here and congratulate them for stupid actions or bad ideas. The original poster is suffering for a bad case of denial. Anyone with a shred of common sense can see that. However, if you want to join in the delusion, enjoy. My advice isn't necessarily posted to help the current poster...that's pretty much a lost cause. Even if she is smart enough to see what's heppening, she's not about to admit it... much like a mom who thinks that their kid couldn't have been the one who stole liquor from the cabinet. "Not my Billy, he's an angel." However, maybe it will help someone in the future, who ends up with the same situation. Like I said before, the fact remains, if the DirecTV box shows the order, it means it was placed on the home unit. No one here can refute that. So, we are left with two alternatives: The box ordered porn 6 times by itself, or someone in the house did it. I wonder what happened????
Re: Re: Re: UPDATE on DirecTV & Porn charges Well, you did get one thing right. This board IS here to help people. So, tell me, too much- who have you helped?
Re: Re: Re: Re: UPDATE on DirecTV & Porn charges Just today, I helped in this thread: http://consumers.creditnet.com/straighttalk/board/showthread.php?s=&postid=361435#post361435 Once again, the advice may have not beeen the feel-good crap that most people like to spew here, but it hopefully will help someone avoid making a bone-headed mistake like the original poster in that thread. People come here because they want financial independence and good credit. Patting them on the back for being idiots doesn't help them acheive that goal. However, I believe that telling them the cold, hard truth about credit and finance will help them in the long run. Most threads here go something like this: "Hey, I just got me a brand new Ford Excursion. I don't know the interest rate on the loan, and I don't care. All that matters is that the 72 payments are lower than my old car payments!!!!" "Congratulations! Can I have a ride !!!!!" "Nice! What color is it??" "How many cup holders are in that thing?"
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: UPDATE on DirecTV & Porn charges Phin is a fool who's in denial. Even you can see that. Maybe explaining that will help her down the road, the next time she's forced to deal with something that involves using common sense.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: UPDATE on DirecTV & Porn charges As I said in an earlier thread, some day some of these things will happen to Too Much, then she'll be singing a different song. I can almost guarantee that if phinfan's husband is consulting a military attorney, he didn't do it! I've been around my share of them. If they investigated and found out he was lying, he could be in serious trouble--and I don't mean with Direct TV. They are not like many attorneys who just believe people like Too Much and act on insufficient information.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: UPDATE on DirecTV & Porn charges too much has been helpful at times. everyone RELAX!!!
just had to give that visual a hearty LOL. So, based on this tiny bit of info about phins life, you've come to this conclusion? what conclusions might WE all come to about you? I'm sure you'll say you don't care. question is, why do you care so much about proving whether a perfect stranger is in denial or not? why does it bother you so? it just supports my theory that people like you have no life. it is interesting tho.
Good God, leave it alone. the issue is dead and settled, what's the point. No one is forcing you guys to respond to each other. This entire thread has been unhelpful.
I suppose technical problems can happen, although one would think that if movies/channels were being ping'd by accident that the genres would be all across the board -- unless, of course, electrons prefer porn which I suppose is a possibility. Moreover, if the box has been firing off orders erratically, there's no reason to believe that it fixed itself for some reason, so I wouldn't count on the idea that these errant orders have stopped: Broken DirecTV boxes don't just awaken one morning and decide that they've put their owners through enough hell and embarrassment and suddenly behave squarely. Perhaps it's time to either replace that box, or it's time to replace family members -- whichever argument appeals to you. In any case, I agree with the individual who requested that the conversation cease. I'm at the point where I don't even care if I get accidentally billed for porn. Doc
