I have just received a credit report from Transunion stating account #123XXX being closed. This report is listed as "charge off as bad debt" but was actually included in bk. I am trying to get it removed from my CR. My question is the account shows - Opened 11/1995, Paid Off 04/2002, Updated 12/2003. Is this reaging my report?

Don't let them see your BK papers.
Keep this concern to one thread please.
Please don't makes folks hop all over the board trying to keep up on your problem!

1995 would be past the 7 yr reporting period unless they are trying to go by the date you went deliquent. The CRA goes by the dol ( date of last activity if that has changed I would be concerned they are trying to reage the debt. and notify them in wrting of your dispute .

in your question you stated 2 different things first you mention acct showing C/O then you stated it was paid off in 2002 which is it?

if its paid why try to get it off this may help you if its says charge off then they can report 7 yrs from date you first went deliquent.

    Re: Re: Updated CR

i believe a good TL can report for 10 years from the paid off date. a bad TL reports for 7 years from DOLA.

the reporting date of 11/2003 is the last date it reported not the DOLA (based on your post). what is the date you filed bankruptcy? is that the 2002 date?

if it is currently reporting as charged off, don't dispute it as IIB, i would dispute it simply that the account was not charged off.
