my credit looks like this since starting credit: 22 year old CREDIT CARDS----- 2/99 $1400 16.9% (Providian Classic) $0 balance 9/00 $5000 15.99% (Chase Gold) $0 balance 11/00 $5000 15.99% (Citibank plat.select) $0 balance 1/01 $2000 10.99% (Amex blue) $0 balance LOANS------- 12/00 $19,000 13.99% (Auto Loan) $0 balance (payed off) thanks a lot!!! to everyone here for posting..... ie: roni, momof3, sam, george, etc...and all others im looking to upgrade the chase gold to the regular chase platinum....i was told by the rep that that have to do a hard inquiry and change account numbers if approved...is it easy to qualify? thanks... tony V. - san diego
AS FAR AS I KNOW...credit card companies can make their own rules...(NOT LAW)...they can UPGRADE without a credit report if they want to!!! JUST ASK IF THEY CAN UPGRADE WITHOUT ONE...say something like PULLING A CREDIT REPORT HURTS F.I.C.O. SCORE, SO DO IT WITHOUT ONE OR JUST DON'T DO IT!!!
If your limit with Chase is already $5K why bother with upgrading to Platinum unless there are extra "perks" for Platinum status like lower APR etc. Don't risk a hard inquiry just for the difference between Gold and Platinum. Just my 2 cents, JP
