    I upgraded to quantum today.

But the terms are no where near the terms others seem to have.

2.9 intro apr for 4 months with a goto rate of 13.99.

no annual fee with a grace of at least 25 days.

1% bt fees with a $5 minimum and no maximum.

What they did is close the old account and open a new quantum card account. Question, do you keep the old account number? And if you don't keep the old account number, do they still report the open date as the original open date?

thats pretty sucky. I got the same deal cept 14.99% go-to with my apple loan BDD mbna classic.

Quantum doesn't seem all that hot after all :( My capitalone has better terms.

They give you a new number, but they still report the open date as the original open date.

sam, yes it is kind of sucky, I guess I will only use this account to up my ratios for a while. Until they offer me better terms. In the sock drawer it goes!

    Steve, thanks for the info.

btw, come to think of it, my old account had a annual fee, and a apr of 18.9. so I did get better terms, just not the best.

Those are the same terms I have. I certainly won't be using this card for purchases, and only for bts when they wave the fee.

With platinum plus the BT/cash advance fee is capped at $40.

Oh well, at least I got the quantum, things can only get better over time. For now the 10k limit will do wonders for my scores.

btw, where you succesfull in getting them to wave the bt fees?

I was not able to with the initial 2.9 promo. However when that ended, they offered my 3.7 for 6 months with a fee. When I called and asked if the would waive the fee, they did. However, I don't know if they will do that for me again or if it was a one time courtesy.

    leo728,

Did you get the regular Quantum or Quantum Select Rewards card?

I converted my regular Quantum Card into Quantum Select Rewards card. I wanted to get something back since I paid it off every month. I don't care what APR since I didn't carry any balances.

do they give you a new account number or do you keep the same one?

Might be a good idea for later on.

    leo728,

They gave me a new account number for the rewards card and I'm still waiting for my card from the mail. They told me that it may take up to 3 to 4 weeks for receiving the card. I noticed they have changed my account number when I logged on accountonline access.

    leo,

Congratulations. The Quantum account numbers begin with 5200. The will waive the BT fee - IF you get a nice rep. You have to keep calling until you get one who will.

"I'd really like to BT at this moment, except I'm hesistant about paying the BT fee. Is there any way that you could waive it for me this time?"

Are we going to have another 100 posts complaining about Quantum's high APR; or is someone actually going to pick up the phone, call MBNA and ask to speak with Retention?

wanna volunteer? lol, but seriously, I have no complaints about the interest rate. My plan is to just lay low for a while, let the new account mature a little and then tackle the interest rate and other issues.

I don't mind the interest rate of my Quantum Select Rewards Card since I pay off each month. It give me merchandise rewards or travel rewards by using the card. The best of all it has no annual fee.

I always volunteer - with cards that I have. Getting the Quantum is still a wish (scheduled to come true later this year :))
