I went to my parents house on sunday and picked up the summons....it was sent first class mail. Attached to the summons was a copy of the orginial check in question. I have left a message for my attorney, hopefully he'll respond today, so that I can give you all an update on what advice he gives me. PolarisA3
hey neighbor!! I'm in IN also - I know you're in IL now, but figured I'd say hi..... good luck - let us know how it goes.... gargoyle girl
WAS it from the Attorney or the court? Are you sure the check copy is not a forgery?Happened to me with five checks! Again don't pay on anything but the original check and don't pay with out the original check in your hands.
LB: Good question, it look as though it is from the court as it is stamped in open court, and has the signature of the Deputy Court Clerk; although it looks as though it was printed by the attorney suing me in this case. But you brought an interesting point up. The check copy attached to the summons upon closer examination is a fax copy, so it looks as though at this point he doesn't have the actual check, just a copy of the front. gargoyle: Howdy back, I lived in NW Indiana my whole life was an always will be Hobart Brickie, and a Purdue Boilermaker. Thanks for your support in this matter PolarisA3
Update: I talked with my BK Lawyer, and it's just my luck...he was partners with the guy trying to sue me, so he will not get involved period. He feels that since he sends his excess caseload to this person that it would cause a confict of interest. I hate my luck sometimes. Well, I guess I need to find another lawyer. PolarisA3
