I'm trying to get an apartment for my kids and I. I've gotten approval that's pending me paying off 3 small collections that I hadn't gotten around to yet. Problem is that these haven't been collected for 4-5 years, so I don't have any contact info for the agencies. The specific CAs that I need info for are AFNI (for a Dish Network bill) and "Credit Management" (for my local cable company bill) Can anyone assist or point me to a resource for this. I thought it should be on my CR, but neither privacy guard nor Equifax online reports show it. Thanks, Michael
I guess I don't understand. If they don't show up on your CR, how is it that the apt. complex knows of these debts?
AFNI = Anderson Financial Network Bloomington, Illinois Corporate Headquarters Afni, Inc. 404 Brock Drive Bloomington, IL 61702
She thought that their address would be on her credit report... Chances are it is on a physical report. You may have to ask the local cable company for the contact information on the other one, that name may be too 'generic' and there could be more than one company with that name (but I will check)
Found 10 "Credit Management" company listings, some of these may be the same company with multiple offices, and it could be that none of these are the Credit Management that you are looking for. Thanks everyone for the replies. AFNI is paid. The cable company bill is all screwed up. It's 6 yrs old, so the co. doesn't have any records for it anymore, and so they don't know how much I supposedly owe. Because the amt on file at the CA doesn't match the amount that the CA is reporting on my credit report. Lovely... lbrown, The reason my approval is pending, is that their computerized app process rejected me. When the lady at the complex pulled my report, she marked these 2 and an apparently returned check as the reasons for the rejection. She offered to approve the app (with a higher deposit, of course), provided that I could get letters indicating "PAID" status for those 3. Since I've pretty much hamstrung myself by wanting to be in a specific school district (only these and 1 other apt complex), I decided that was the way to go. Mike
*hugs* And of course, since they want a 'PAID' letter, just getting them off doesn't help. I was able to get AFNI off with a few months of well timed administration (presidents office then being transferred to the highest manager below their office) phone calls *WARNING* only do that if you *KNOW* what you're doing... After giving that manager 2 months to look over everything, and getting no response, I was able to call back the presidents office, and give them until the end of business day to get it deleted, called the presidents office back at the end of business day, gave them the fax # of a third-party fax machine to fax the deletion letter to, and bye, bye...
