I requested a 30 day debt validity from USAA with a sample letter from this forum. The debt is a $20,000 charge off and is 6 years old. Well I did get a timely response but they sent me some one elses information, The Validity info has my name but the SSN, middle initial, address and other personal info is wrong. The letter was adressed to me but this person lives in Alaska. If I was a crook I could use this persons info to commit fruad. It also has his phone number I started to call him. I dont wish to cause USAA any problems I only want them to remove the chargeoff. Any suggestions, USAA made a big mistake sending me a copy of someone elses credit application.
Hi Rolo. Since you didn't receive the correct information you're looking for (in regards to your personal info, anyways), it's hard to say how "valid" this debt validity response is. (I would guess not very.) My simple suggestion would be to contact the USAA and notify them of the mistake, that way you can get the information you need and they can correct the mistake.
