I think I have read here in the last few days that some people do not include an account number or a signature when sending validation and estoppel letters to ca's or original creditors because they fell this would just help with validation. Any opinions? Didn't get all my letters sent out for CHOD, thinking of rewriting them and leaving out the account numbers and signatures. Thanks
I am NOT the expert so don't rely on me 100%...but I don't sign and I use the account number listed on the credit report. Then if they come back asking for a full account number or SS# I either ignore or send them another letter CRR stating "YOU are reporting this on my credit report, not the other way around, it's up to YOU to locate the information you are reporting as supposedly "accurate". So far when it's been a CA I get a letter back saying they will delete. Now I have a few out now so I can't testify to how this round will go...but the one who did ask for SS# I completely ignored them. The burden of proof is on their shoulders..not mine!!! Did you get the letter? I emailed it about 10 minutes ago.
Boy, this is really messed up...My first post is gone....LOL Anyway, I think I will use your idea if I respond to the original creditor who asked me for more info!
