I got a really good BT offer from MBNA that I would like to take advantage of but everyone and their mothers has told me not to carry a balance on MBNA because they will jack my rates up to the sky. Has anyone had any good or not sooo bad experiences with MBNA and carrying balances? If so, put my nervouness to carry a balance with them to rest :D

I am not renigging on my not carrying balances with them, just interested if anyone had had any good experiences:)

Marci, I know you said never do it, but this would save me some serious cash, what do you think?

They "JACKED" the BT FEE to $75.00

    $00.00
    $30.00
    $50.00
    $75.00

I have done EVERYTHING you can with my MBNA account...EXCEPT GET A LIMIT INCREASE!!!

I have not had any problems with MBNA and bts other than the fact that they insist on charging a fee now. They used to waive it for me, but told me it is new policy that they have to charge the fee on at least one of your transfers (like if I transfer from 3 account, they have to charge me the fee on one, but can waive it on the other 3) . They will also deposit the money in your checking account, but again will not waive the fee.

Everytime I have done a bt with them I have had it deposited to my account and I have bt'd up to almost my limit (within 50-100 of limit). They have never given my any problems with jacking aprs afterward. I am currently on month #2 of a 6 month 0% offer (it expires in December).

So far I have had no problems.

I generally have had good experience with MBNA. If you stay current they wont play games on you. I just did a BT for 15000 and paid off my car loan. Even with $75 BT fees its still a good deal .. i can recover it couple of months. Cra loan interest 5%, MBNA 0% for 9 months.

    MBNA - A+

    Citibank - B+
    AMEX- B+
    BofA - B+
