use one CRA against another?

is it possible to use one CRA's dispute response to get a tradeline removed from another CRA?

I've got a dispute that came back with updated dates, which was therefore over the 7 year mark and removed on EQ.

However, TU still has this info listed with incorrect dates. (they came back with 'verified' on the same acct, and the dates remained incorrect)

should I send TU the portion that I am concerned with to get the tradeline removed?

Yes and NO. Is that clear enough?

There is another thread right now discussing this.

Yes, the CRA's "may" share info. It doesn't say they are required to.

I sent a copy of the documentation deletion and a letter explaining the issue to TU. Both EQ & EX had deleted it correctly. I called TU because nothing had been done. TU said "why would you think we would accept documentation of a competitor?" That is the stance the CRA's are taking. I have read some people have had some luck using this logic.

I am with you. If they did have to share, I would have 3 clean reports right now. I don't have any of my negative items reporting on all 3 (all have been deleted from at least 1 CRA).

If you give this "deleted account" information to the other CRAs just make sure that you don't send them the entire credit report.

You don't want them to scan this into their permanent files.

I only gave them what I wanted them to have--the top sheet showing the name, acct #, and "deleted." That's it. No details except my letter. I also blacked out anything else on that page 1 that did not pertain to the account I wanted them to delete. This would include any account that was verified by the competing CRA. They either ignored my request or laughed at the whole idea of accepting a "competitors document." It didn't work for me, and the FTC doesnt' give this requirement much power either. No One has pushed the notion enough to make it stick.

ok thanks. I do not wish to send them the whole dispute, as there are things on it that are not on the others.
    I'll try disputing it again.
