Use one CRA to dispute another?

If creditor XYZ reports to TU that you've only been 30 days late once, but they report to EXP that you've been 30 days late several times, and 60 days late several times, how can both claims be true?

FWIW I have long closed my account with this creditor, it was a car loan that I asked for a statement of account numerous times, and always got a "we're having computer problems" excuse for not being able to get an updated statement.

So if the info they reported to one CRA is significantly different from what another says, can you use info from one CRA to dispute another?

    Hi Questy,

Nope. One CRA doesn't care what another one says.

Your strategy would be to argue (with the DF) that the TL is inaccurate, without telling them why.

Hopefully they will pull a CR to see what the problem is. Then you'll have them on a No PP case ($1,000).

Sue, and then settle for dropping the suit AFTER they delete from all CRA's.

    See?

    :)

Yea, tell me about it. First credit after BK (back in '97) my choices were limited. Kept getting charges tacked on to my payments because they said the previous payment was late, I'd call and ask for a print out of my statement. They'd credit me for the late charge, and give me the same lame excuse about how the new computer system was just updated and I'd get a statement soon. Never got one. Finally found the money to pay it off early and get away from these bozo's.

Thanks for the input butch. If this company couldn't provide me with a printed statement for six months, they may not be able to produce the info to stand behind their reports.
